It’s one of the most exciting times for the girls in the SC office when Oasis and Warehouse release their new collections, and this season certainly didn’t disappoint!

Warehouse takes us on a journey through the streets of Shoreditch with UK model Frederike Helwig, who perfectly captures the latest looks against a background of the ever evolving city. The S/S 2013 collection combines modern tailoring with this season’s hottest trend – monocrhome.

Moving off the streets of london and into a hidden courtyard, the S/S 2013 collection from Oasis features gorgeous floral prints and striking op-art graphics. Dresses are the key pieces of the collection combining delicate lace, neon brights and vintage inspired tailoring.

In November 2012 Style Counsel Managing Director Effie jetted overseas to assist with the European launch of Von Follies by Dita Von Teese lingerie.

First stop was LA, where Effie managed a gorgeous new campaign shoot with Dita modelling the new collection. Our amazing photographer Georges Antoni captured the fashion designer and burlesque beauty at her best, producing some amazing images to set the tone for the Australian and international campaign ahead.

Next Effie flew to London, where Dita hosted an exclusive cocktail party to officially launch Von Follies into the European market. Guests were treated to a lavish evening or fine drinks and dining, celebrating the expansion of the brand and ongoing success of Von Teese

We’ve been very busy here at Style Counsel HQ! Another successful BMW Caulfield Cup Carnival has been run – what a truly amazing event. We kicked off the campaign with the search for the 2012 Faces of Caulfield – and wow! We were blown away by the talent we encountered. After several grueling rounds of castings, Abbotsford Jazz Singer Hetty Kate and Ivanhoe Personal Trainer Evan Spargo were named as the Faces of Caulfield. We have worked closely with the duo throughout the Carnival and have thoroughly enjoyed it – they are true professionals!

We must make mention of the 2012 Chadstone Fashion Stakes – every year we see so many brilliantly dressed men and women pound the runway for their chance to win a share in the $120,000 prize pool; this year it included an all expenses paid trip to Royal Ascot in 2013. More than 400 style savvy race goers entered this year while 32 fashion industry judges were tasked with deciding who would take home the prize. Congratulations to the winners of each category, Melissa Buchanan (Stylish Ladies 18-40), Leanora Romensky (Stylish Ladies 40+) and Norm Muir (Stylish Gents).

We love working on the Melbourne Racing Club’s spring racing campaign, it’s always a fabulous experience, each year the BMW Caulfield Cup Carnival grows in popularity – we can’t wait to see what Caulfield’s Summer Festival of Racing has to offer.

Recently celebrity chef Ian Curley hosted a dinner on behalf of our brilliant not-for-profit client, Youth Projects, at The European – one of Melbourne’s most iconic eateries.

The aim of the event, which included a delicious three course meal prepared by Ian himself, was in aid of bringing together Youth Projects’ corporate associates and presenting to them the Community Service Announcement which you can view here: Youth Projects CSA

Harris Scarfe launched the Autumn/Winter collections for 2012 with a stunning media and celebrity-attended luncheon at Circa in St Kilda.

Harris Scarfe showcased the latest season offerings from on-trend fashion collections to outstanding homewares collaborations.

The homewares collection was showcased throughout the venue via a series of installations intricately styled by Deb McLean.

The event featured an exciting live photo shoot styled by Vas Arvantis as she developed the Autumn Winter 12 looks for the upcoming catalogue, live on-site, featuring Harris Scarfe exclusive brands Luca and Marc, Khoko, Nic Morris, Savannah and Inspyr.

Global style icon Dita Von Teese was in town from March 5-11 to launch her new Von Follies lingerie range for Target and appear at LMFF for the very first time in an exciting world first!

The Von Follies by Dita Von Teese show was a highlight of the LMFF 2012 calendar with Dita herself sauntering down the runway to open/close the show and models of all shapes, sizes and ethnicities showcasing key looks from the range.

In a true celebration of beauty, fantasy and old hollywood glamour, the Von Follies parade featured a variety of props from Dita’s personal wardrobe including seamed stockings, hats, veils, eye masks by Laura Kranitz, gloves, lace and sequin capelets as well as shoes by her friend Christian Louboutin, of course! The icing on the cake was a killer music mix made by Dita herself including some of her favorite big band songs and original music from her burlesque shows.

The Von Follies parade was a resounding hit with both media and fans alike, we all agree it was an amazing event to be part of!

The lovely Dita Von Teese took time out of her busy schedule while she was in Melbourne for LMFF to get up close and personal with fans at an exclusive in-store meet and greet/press call at the Urban by Target store on Chapel Street.

Dita posed for photos with three gorgeous models representing a range of different sizes and spoke with MC Lauren Brain about the inspiration for the range as well as sharing some tips for her fans about the key to feeling sexy in lingerie.

Hoards of fans lined up outside the store to catch a glimpse of Dita, including one eager woman who had flown in from Sydney and was waiting from 5am- now that’s dedication!

Dita refused to leave the store until she had met all of the fans and signed autographs/taken pictures.

A great day was had by all and there were many happy faces leaving the Urban by Target store!

Jamie Oliver touched down in Brisbane on Saturday to visit his first ever Australian Ministry of Food centre in Ipswich.

To celebrate the centre’s upcoming first birthday, Jamie hosted a cooking class teaching 20 lucky participants (and an audience of 650) the secrets to perfecting chicken fajitas.

MOFA Ambassadors Ben O’Donoghue and Anna Gare were on hand to assist with the class, in which Queensland Premier Anna Bligh, Ipswich Mayor Paul Pisasale and The Good Guys Ipswich proprietor Mark Timms were among the participants.

A press call at Jamie’s Ministry of Food mobile kitchen in Logan capped off a successful day and marked the completion of his QLD leg.

We’re looking forward to seeing Jamie in Melbourne tomorrow!

The NONI B fashion stage was alive with glamour on Saturday at Caulfield’s Patinack Farm Blue Diamond Stakes Day.

Racegoers were stunned by the exquisite fashion in the Liz Jordan exclusively for NONI B parades and the Blue Diamond Fashion Stakes attracted a stellar line up. Well done to Lisa Wellings for taking out first place and Jacqueline Russo for second.

NONI B fashion stage hosts Sonia Marinelli and Andrew Falkiner kept their cool on a sweltering day; Blue Diamond Fashion Stakes judges, Martin Saunders (NONI B), Bree Laughlin (Face of Caulfield) and Peter Jago had their work cut out for them and guests such as Tania Zaetta, Ian ‘Dicko’ Dickson and Emma Freedman had a brilliant Summer race day.
